Mitsubishi Prepares 2026 Strategy with Hybrid on Main Agenda
JAKARTA — Despite considerable market challenges, PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Indonesia (MMKI) successfully navigated 2025, achieving positive market absorption across its product portfolio.
Atsushi Kurita, President Director of PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia (MMKSI), stated that whilst 2025 presented challenges and the fiscal year continues through March 2026, the company has performed well. “Amid increasingly competitive market dynamics, market response to our products has been decidedly positive. Overall, our product line performance remained stable, enabling us to increase market share from 8.3 per cent to 8.5 per cent,” Kurita said in East Jakarta on Friday (28 February 2026).
Mitsubishi Motors also marked 55 years of operations in Indonesia at the end of 2025, with approximately 2.4 million vehicles currently operating throughout the country.
Kurita highlighted that Destinator, the new seven-seater SUV segment entry, achieved a market share of 53.7 per cent and leads its class. The L300 maintained dominant positioning with a 47.5 per cent market share. Other models demonstrated strong positions, including Xpander Cross at 24 per cent, Pajero Sport at 34.7 per cent, Triton at 36.1 per cent, and Xforce at 11 per cent.
At IIMS 2026, Mitsubishi achieved improved results compared with the previous year’s event. Total vehicle order forms (SPK) reached 2,400 units against a target of 3,000 units. Irwan Kuncoro, Director of Sales and Marketing at MMKSI, noted that Destinator and Xpander drove performance at the event. Whilst Xpander dominated order forms, Destinator demonstrated positive momentum, with cumulative sales reaching 10,000 units to date, with the highest variant proving most popular.
Looking ahead to 2026, Mitsubishi has established four primary targets. First, expansion of dealer networks throughout Indonesia whilst strengthening service delivery through the “passion to care” philosophy.
