Ministry stay idle on brawls

Student brawls have broken out again lately and the Jakarta
office of the Ministry of Education and Culture has taken no
action on the matter.

The regularity of the brawls is so alarming that beaten up or
stabbed school students are no longer in the news unless they are
killed in the brawls.

Even if students are killed I am skeptical that the ministry
will take action unless the murdered students are children of
high government officials.

Up to this day there has not been any admonition from the
ministry towards the school headmasters whose students are often
involved in brawls.

I often see students from STM I Budi Utomo move in mobs to
attack the SMP 35 school in Central Jakarta.

I am convinced that if the ministry questioned the headmasters
of these two schools, for example, the school students will have
to comply and stop fighting.

Who else will be able to pacify those students who look down
on security officers and the police if not their own headmasters
and teachers?
