Ministry stay idle on brawls<\/p>\n

Student brawls have broken out again lately and the Jakarta
\noffice of the Ministry of Education and Culture has taken no
\naction on the matter.<\/p>\n
The regularity of the brawls is so alarming that beaten up or
\nstabbed school students are no longer in the news unless they are
\nkilled in the brawls.<\/p>\n
Even if students are killed I am skeptical that the ministry
\nwill take action unless the murdered students are children of
\nhigh government officials.<\/p>\n
Up to this day there has not been any admonition from the
\nministry towards the school headmasters whose students are often
\ninvolved in brawls.<\/p>\n
I often see students from STM I Budi Utomo move in mobs to
\nattack the SMP 35 school in Central Jakarta.<\/p>\n
I am convinced that if the ministry questioned the headmasters
\nof these two schools, for example, the school students will have
\nto comply and stop fighting.<\/p>\n
Who else will be able to pacify those students who look down
\non security officers and the police if not their own headmasters
\nand teachers?<\/p>\n
