Ministry of Youth and Sports Supports Youth Development in NTB
Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB) possesses significant potential across various sectors, including efforts to foster and develop youth.
Mataram (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) supports initiatives to foster and develop youth in Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB).
Deputy for Youth Services at Kemenpora, Hendro Wicaksono, stated the importance of close collaboration between the central government and regions so that every programme can deliver tangible impacts and maximum benefits for the youth of NTB and the nation.
“We highly appreciate the initiatives of Dikpora NTB; synchronising programmes is crucial so that support and policies from the centre can be on target and address the needs of youth in the regions,” he said while receiving a visit from the NTB Education, Youth, and Sports Agency (Dikpora), led by the Head of the Youth Fostering and Development Division, Tarmidzi, via a written statement received in Mataram on Wednesday.
Hendro acknowledged that NTB has great potential in all fields, including youth fostering and development efforts.
Meanwhile, Tarmidzi, Head of the Youth Fostering and Development Division, said the visit to Kemenpora aimed to coordinate and synchronise various strategic programmes that have been and will be implemented by Dikpora NTB, to ensure alignment with central government policies.
Tarmidzi outlined several achievements in NTB’s youth programmes for 2025 and work plans for 2026, including developing youth capacity through optimising youth entrepreneurship programmes to create an independent, innovative, and creative young generation.
Regional planning through the elaboration of the Regional Action Plan (RAD) for youth services, which contains targets, strategies, and priority activity focuses for youth development in NTB in accordance with Governor’s Regulation Number 14 of 2024 and Regional Regulation Number 2 of 2019 on Youth, which serves as a guide for local governments in fostering and developing youth.
On that occasion, said Tarmidzi, discussions also covered the Youth Development Index (IPP) of NTB, as well as strategic efforts to continuously improve the quality of NTB’s IPP in various domains, including education, health, employment opportunities, and gender.
Furthermore, strengthening character and diplomacy through the Praja Muda Karana Movement (Pramuka), youth organisations (OKP), and preparations for involving NTB youth in youth exchange programmes with eight countries, including the United States, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Australia, China, the United Kingdom, Japan, and Singapore.
“All of this is to broaden the global horizons of NTB’s youth,” he said.
