Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (KemenPPPA) is urging all institutions to enforce policies that protect and ensure the safety of children from violence, abuse, or exposure to danger.

“To prevent incidents like this (violence against children by law enforcement officers) from happening again, it is crucial to evaluate security procedures on the ground to ensure that similar incidents do not recur, especially those that could pose a risk to children’s safety,” said the Minister of PPPA, Arifah Fauzi, in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.

The ministry is also encouraging strengthened cross-sectoral coordination, including with the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK), to ensure that victims and their families receive comprehensive protection, whether legal, medical, or psychosocial.

“Continuous support for surviving victims is needed to minimise the impact of trauma, ensure the recovery process runs optimally, and provide protection for child victims who are also witnesses,” said Minister Arifatul Choiri Fauzi.
