Indonesia’s Ministry of Trade on Thursday, 12 March, convened a business networking event for domestic business operators with prospective buyers from six partner nations. The gathering brought together four domestic enterprises with representatives from the embassies of Russia, Thailand, Cambodia, India, Nigeria, and Kenya. The business networking session was held in the Ministry of Trade’s Permanent Trade Exhibition Space in Jakarta.

According to Fajarini Puntodewi, the Director for National Export Development at the Ministry of Trade, the meeting played a strategic role in expanding international market networks whilst exploring deeper cooperation opportunities for Indonesia’s flagship products.

“Through business networking, the Ministry of Trade continues to work to open new markets and strengthen connectivity between Indonesian business operators and various international partners. We are committed to continuously reinforcing export promotion and facilitation so that domestic business operators become increasingly competitive and able to expand the penetration of Indonesian products,” said Puntodewi.

During the business networking session, the four Indonesian companies presented products that have met global standards. First, PT Sinar Harapan Plastik showcased various educational toys, tricycles, and toy vehicles made from plastic designed to support children’s creative development. Next, PT Prioritas Jaya Indonesia exhibited skincare, body care, haircare products, and locally-made perfumes based on natural ingredients certified Halal by the Indonesian Ulama Council (MUI), which also met Good Manufacturing Practice (CPKB) standards for cosmetics.

A representative from PT Prioritas Jaya Indonesia, Rizal, stated that the Ministry of Trade’s business networking event was a valuable opportunity for his company to introduce Indonesian beauty products based on natural ingredients to international partners. “This activity was quite impressive as it became a stepping stone in introducing our products to buyers represented by embassies of our friendly nations,” said Rizal.

Subsequently, CV Wimi Fu International from Purwokerto presented a collection of high-quality Muslim fashion, including headscarves, shawls, and batik cloth made from cotton, silk, and wool. Additionally, PT Herbatama Indo Perkasa promoted traditional medicine products, supplements, and health honey that has already reached international markets including the ASEAN region, Russia, Nigeria, and the United States.

Export Manager of PT Herbatama Indo Perkasa, Herry Wibowo, also appreciated the facilitation provided by the Ministry of Trade to expand the marketing network of Indonesian products through business networking. According to him, the meeting provided space for business operators to share information whilst directly introducing products to prospective international partners. Moreover, the presence of the Permanent Trade Exhibition at the Ministry of Trade’s office has provided a showcase to increase exposure for prospective buyers seeking quality products from Indonesia.

“This event is excellent as a platform for sharing information. Thank you to the Ministry of Trade for bridging and bringing together business operators in this place. We have been greatly helped by the exhibition facilities, so when there are buyers or representatives of friendly nations who visit, they can directly see our products,” said Herry.
