Ministry of Tourism Prepares Various Travel Packages During Eid Holidays
“We believe that this movement will lead to a positive economic impact or good economic circulation for the community, especially for UMKM entrepreneurs,” said Deputy for Marketing of the Ministry of Tourism, Ni Made Ayu Marthini, in an official statement confirmed in Jakarta on Thursday.
Made explained that the Idul Fitri moment is one of the periods with the highest travel mobility in Indonesia. This condition significantly affects tourist movement, thus requiring collective efforts to ensure smooth travel.
This increase in mobility not only impacts the transportation sector but also opens up broader economic circulation opportunities among the community, particularly for UMKM entrepreneurs who are an important part of the tourism ecosystem.
To increase tourist movement, the Ministry of Tourism has coordinated and curated various travel packages that can be enjoyed by the public.
These packages were prepared through collaboration with around 40 tourism industry players and are focused primarily on users of air transportation.
The public is encouraged to travel domestically as part of strengthening the campaign to be proud of travelling in Indonesia. This step not only expands destination choices for tourists but also strengthens the resilience of the national tourism sector through the optimisation of domestic potential.
Furthermore, Made emphasised the important role of online travel agents (OTA) in providing quality services to the public. She stressed the importance of conveying accurate information, especially regarding land, sea, and air transportation ticket prices during the Eid holiday period.
“If there are conditions on the ground, we hope that they can be communicated well so that they can be clarified in accordance with the applicable policies,” said Made.
Deputy for Connectivity Coordination of the Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Odo Manuhutu, added that the government is striving to reduce flight ticket prices through several strategic policies.
These efforts include improving the aviation industry cost structure, formulating upper limit tariff policies, simplifying aircraft spare parts import regulations, and strengthening support for pioneer routes by local governments.
The government is also providing various incentives during the Idul Fitri holiday period, including a 20 per cent discount on Aircraft Passenger Service Fees (PJPU), a 40 to 50 per cent discount on Aircraft Landing, Placement, and Storage Service Fees (PJP4U), up to a 10 per cent discount on aviation fuel at 37 airports, and a reduction in non-tax state revenue (PNBP) to airports of up to 50 per cent.
Through these various policies, the government targets a reduction in flight ticket prices to around 17-18 per cent, thereby increasing public accessibility for travel during the Eid holidays.
