JAKARTA - The Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) has begun preparing simulations for work-from-anywhere (WFA) and work-from-office (WFO) schemes for civil servants (ASN). This policy forms part of the government’s efficiency measures in response to the high global oil prices resulting from conflicts in the Middle East region. “Yes, we have already conducted simulations. We are currently carrying out simulations, but of course we will await the regulations to be issued by the Ministry of PAN-RB in accordance with the President’s directives,” said Gus Ipul on Wednesday (25/3/2026). According to him, the WFA and WFO schemes will be adjusted to the needs of public services. Kemensos assures that services to the public will continue to operate optimally despite adjustments to work patterns. “We will adjust accordingly, but we have already started simulations under the coordination of the Secretary General. For example, what it would be like on Fridays if one day per week is implemented,” explained Gus Ipul. “Our priority is to ensure that services to the public are not disrupted, while also being able to allocate WFO and WFA,” he added. “Starting from the use of AC, electricity, purchasing office supplies, meetings, and so on. We will make everything efficient,” he clarified. Regarding the amount of budget that will be saved, Gus Ipul said it is still in the calculation stage and targeted to be completed in the near future. “Perhaps next month we can calculate it. Currently, it is still in process,” he said. “That’s just from electricity alone, not including other components. It will certainly be adjusted later,” concluded Gus Ipul.
