Ministry of Social Affairs Distributes ATENSI Assistance to 8 Districts and Cities
The Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos), through the Kendari Meohai Centre, has distributed assistance under the Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) programme to 821 social assistance recipients. The aid targets vulnerable communities in eight districts/cities, with a total value of Rp1,409,500,000.
The recipients are spread across the areas covered by the Kendari Meohai Centre, namely Buton Regency, Central Buton Regency, East Kolaka Regency, Bau-Bau City, Konawe Regency, North Kolaka Regency, South Buton Regency, and West Muna Regency. This programme is a government effort to improve welfare and provide social protection, particularly for the elderly, people with disabilities, children, and other vulnerable groups.
The Head of the Kendari Meohai Centre, Muhamad Gunawan, hopes that the assistance provided will have a tangible impact on the beneficiaries.
“We hope this assistance can alleviate the burden on the community and serve as an initial step in improving the welfare and independence of the recipients, allowing them to directly feel positive impacts, both in enhancing their quality of life and social independence,” said Gunawan in a written statement on Wednesday (15/4/2026).
The distribution of assistance was carried out in stages from 8 to 14 April 2026. The aid provided includes essentials for a decent standard of living, personal equipment, and entrepreneurship support tailored to the assessment results for each recipient.
This activity also involved local governments, such as the Social Services, social pillars spread across the districts/cities, and the Post Office, ensuring the distribution process ran smoothly.
The Head of Social Rehabilitation for Buton Regency, La Rasidi, stated that the local government is ready to continue synergising to ensure that social welfare programmes are on target and sustainable.
“We hope the distributed assistance can be well utilised to meet basic needs and encourage the independence of the recipients in our area,” said La Rasidi.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Kambara Post Office Branch in West Muna Regency, Waode Hasni, said that through this collaboration, they will continue to contribute to supporting government programmes in improving community social welfare and providing the best services.
