The Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) is accelerating the distribution of adaptive social assistance to communities affected by disasters in Aceh Province, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. The government has targeted that assistance for verified data can be distributed before Eid al-Fitr.

The distribution is being conducted through PT. Pos Indonesia. To date, verified data shows more than 67,000 beneficiary families (KPM) for housing renovation support of Rp3 million per family totalling Rp203.6 billion and economic stimulus assistance of Rp5 million per household head totalling Rp339.4 billion.

Meanwhile, living allowance support (jadup) of Rp450,000 per person per month for three months has been prepared for more than 248,000 beneficiaries totalling Rp335.5 billion.

Additionally, survivor allowance for 1,015 disaster victims at Rp15 million per person amounting to Rp15.2 billion and emergency assistance worth Rp110.1 billion have been prepared. Total assistance for the disaster in the three provinces exceeds Rp1 trillion.

“This is currently being processed, hopefully within this week the process will move faster, and data that has been validated can be distributed before Eid al-Fitr,” said Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Syaifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul) in his statement on Tuesday (3 March 2026).

He conveyed this at the Kemensos Office in Central Jakarta on Monday evening (2 March). Gus Ipul explained that the distribution mechanism is carried out in layers to ensure accuracy and accountability. Initial data is sourced from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), which is then determined by name and address by regional heads.

The data is subsequently signed by the head of the state prosecutor’s office and local police chief before being submitted to the Minister of Home Affairs as chair of the Task Force for Accelerated Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (PRR) following the Sumatra disaster. After approval, the data is forwarded to Kemensos for validation before distribution.

“Now we have already started the distribution process, more than 10 per cent has been distributed, we hope it will continue to increase, and we will provide further information once the distribution process is nearly complete,” concluded Gus Ipul.
