Ministry of Religious Affairs begins distributing 4.5 trillion rupiah BOS funds for private madrasahs
Jakarta — The Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) has announced that School Operational Assistance (BOS) funds for private madrasahs in 2026 are now being distributed, with a total budget allocation of 4.5 trillion rupiah.
The Director General of Islamic Education at Kemenag, Amien Suyitno, stated that of this amount, approximately 400 billion rupiah has been allocated for Operational Assistance for Early Childhood Islamic Education (BOP RA), whilst 4.1 trillion rupiah is designated for madrasah BOS.
“The good news is that this BOS can also be used to pay non-civil service teachers, which is typically the case in private madrasahs,” said Suyitno in Jakarta on Monday.
Suyitno explained that the government is working to ensure teacher welfare through two channels. Teachers who have completed Teacher Professional Education (PPG) can receive Teacher Professional Allowance (TPG), whilst teachers who have not yet completed or passed PPG can receive support through BOS funds.
Meanwhile, the Director of Curriculum, Facilities, Institutional Development, and Student Affairs (KSKK) for Madrasahs at Kemenag, Nyanyu Khodijah, announced that BOS and BOP fund disbursements can now be accessed by individual madrasahs and early childhood centres through their designated banks.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs has extended the deadline for educational institutions still in the process of uploading data to the system by one further day to ensure all processes can run in parallel.
Overall, she stated, the annual BOS budget for madrasahs reaches approximately 11 trillion rupiah, distributed in two phases per semester. For private madrasahs, the allocation currently being disbursed reaches approximately 4.5 trillion rupiah.
Kemenag has also opened channels for communication with madrasahs or teacher associations experiencing difficulties in the fund disbursement or reporting process for BOS and BOP.
