Ministry of Manpower Reminds of Final Internship Stage Determining Participants' Rights
The National Internship Programme Batch I, organised by the Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker), has entered its final stage. Participants are reminded to complete all administrative obligations, as this phase determines the issuance of certificates and the disbursement of pocket money.
The programme, which lasts six months in the industrial sector, is scheduled to end on 19 April 2026 for Batch 1A and 23 April 2026 for Batch 1B. The official programme closure will take place on 24 April 2026.
Darmawansyah, Director General of Vocational Training and Productivity Development (Binalavotas) at Kemnaker, emphasised the importance of internship experience as preparation for entering the workforce.
According to him, the internship programme not only provides direct work experience in industry but also strengthens technical and non-technical skills, such as communication, teamwork, and adaptability in the work environment.
Participants are also asked to make good use of this experience, including documenting it in their CV or portfolio as an added value when applying for jobs.
On the other hand, partner companies through operators also have responsibilities during the period of 19–22 April 2026. Operators are required to prepare internship certificates through the MagangHub system, including completing participant data, company logos, and electronic signatures from directors.
In addition, operators must fill out competency certification reports, placement or recruitment reports if any, and mandatory questionnaires.
The role of mentors is also considered crucial. They are responsible for approving participants’ attendance and daily reports, providing monthly and final assessments, and submitting pocket money disbursements after all stages are fulfilled.
As a follow-up, the government is also preparing online training and competency certification for participants. This programme is expected to increase participants’ readiness before undergoing competency tests and to increase the chances of obtaining skill certificates.
