Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) and the short-form video social media platform TikTok Indonesia have collaborated to hold digital vocational training titled “BISA (Belajar dan Implementasi Skill Adaptif) Bareng TikTok” in a hybrid format in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Minister of Manpower Yassierli, at the launch event, stated that this initiative represents a synergy between the government and industry to provide knowledge and skills to the public, while accelerating the quality of Indonesia’s digital talent.

“We have opened collaborations with all parties as long as they provide benefits to the public in accordance with regulations and our governance at the Ministry of Manpower,” said Yassierli.

He hopes that with greater access for the public to relevant digital training, such as content creation to entering e-commerce through various platforms, it can become one of the easier and more flexible work options.

“Hopefully, this can become a new skill that can be continuously developed, which can serve as an alternative related to employment, even if temporary, which we can expect to also improve welfare,” Yassierli stated.

Meanwhile, the Director General of Vocational Training Development and Productivity (Binalavotas) of Kemnaker, Darmawansyah, said that the collaboration to enhance human resource (HR) competency in the digital technology sector is important to enable adaptability amid global employment challenges.

“The collaboration includes the preparation of training linkage analysis, development of training programmes and curriculum, provision of training facilities and infrastructure, and enhancement of instructor capacity,” said Darmawansyah.

“Secondly, the BISA Bareng TikTok training programme today is an implementation of that collaboration in order to enhance HR competency in the digital field,” he added.

On the other hand, Head of Public Policy and Government Relations at TikTok Indonesia, Hilmi Adrianto, said that the training was conducted over one day in a hybrid format, attended by 400 participants in person and approximately 1,000 participants online.

“We want to contribute to building a more inclusive ecosystem where the public not only has access to technology but also good development to utilise it,” said Hilmi.
