Ministry of Law in Special Region of Yogyakarta harmonises 532 regional legal products in 2025
Yogyakarta — The Regional Office of the Ministry of Law of the Special Region of Yogyakarta has harmonised 532 regional legal products throughout 2025.
“The achievement of 532 legal products that have been harmonised in 2025 reflects the high awareness of local governments in creating quality and applicable regulations,” said Agung Rektono Seto, Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law in Yogyakarta, in a statement in Yogyakarta on Saturday.
He explained that the harmonisation process was carried out on draft regional regulations and draft regulations by regional heads submitted by district/city governments in the Special Region of Yogyakarta through the accompaniment of legislative drafters.
The harmonisation, according to Agung, aims to ensure that every regulation aligns with the provisions of higher-ranking legislation.
“Through careful examination of substance, each regulatory draft is ensured to have solid legal foundations and to be able to meet the real needs of local communities,” he said.
According to him, regulations that are formed must provide legal certainty and have direct impact for the public.
“We are committed to continuing to provide objective legal assistance so that no regional regulation impedes innovation or harms the constitutional rights of society,” he said.
He hopes that the success of this harmonisation becomes a strong foundation for more integrated regional development in the years to come.
The Ministry of Law in Yogyakarta, he said, will strengthen the capacity of legislative drafters in the region so that the regulatory drafting process runs more efficiently without reducing substantive precision.
