Ministry of Law: Digitalisation of Legal Aid Posts Strengthens Paralegals in Magelang and Banyumas
Purwokerto (ANTARA) - The Central Java Regional Office of the Ministry of Law (Kemenkum) has confirmed that the digitalisation of village/sub-district legal aid post (posbankum) reporting will strengthen the professionalism of paralegals in Magelang City and Banyumas Regency in delivering transparent and accountable legal services to the public.
“Paralegals are the frontline of legal aid services in the field. Through orderly reporting on the posbankum application, every activity — whether consultation, legal counselling, or out-of-court mediation — can be properly documented so that the quality of expanded access to justice can be concretely measured,” said Lily Mufidah, a senior legal counsellor at the Central Java Regional Office of the Ministry of Law, during an online socialisation event attended by paralegals from Magelang City and Banyumas Regency on Tuesday.
She said the socialisation was organised by the Legal Counselling Team of the Central Java Regional Office of the Ministry of Law as part of efforts to optimise access to justice at the village and sub-district level through the use of the app.posbankum.bphn.go.id application.
The socialisation focused on strengthening technical understanding of digital service reporting so that every service rendered is documented in an orderly, accurate, and accountable manner, she said.
According to her, legal aid posts are considered to play a strategic role in helping communities resolve legal issues independently, wisely, and peacefully.
During the practical session, paralegals were guided through the stages of data input, from the identity of service recipients, classification of service types, and brief descriptions of legal issues, through to the finalisation of reports in the system.
Emphasis was placed on the importance of consistency and timeliness in reporting as part of the monitoring and evaluation system for legal aid services.
Meanwhile, Heni Susila Wardoyo, Head of the Central Java Regional Office of the Ministry of Law, said that in addition to technical training on the application, participants also received reinforcement on the four main services provided by legal aid posts.
“The four posbankum services are: legal consultation and information; legal aid and advocacy; out-of-court settlement; and referral to advocates for cases requiring litigation. This is important as practical knowledge,” he said.
He expressed hope that through the programme, paralegals in Magelang City and Banyumas Regency would become increasingly professional in managing legal aid posts and capable of supporting the transformation of legal aid services that are transparent, accountable, and oriented towards the needs of the community.
