Jakarta — The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) stated that the food and beverage (Mamin) sector has not been impacted by the conflict between Israel and the United States against Iran.

Putu Juli Ardika, Director General of Agro Industry at Kemenperin, said that imported raw materials for the food and beverage industry had been supplied before the conflict erupted.

“Regarding imported raw materials, they indeed arrived earlier, so they have not yet been affected by the conflict,” Putu said when met at the Ministry of Industry office in Jakarta on Tuesday (10 March 2026).

The potential impacts include increased logistics costs.

Putu explained that imported raw materials for the agro-industry are not supplied from the Middle East. He noted that the main imported raw materials include refined sugar.

“Much of it comes from Australia, Thailand, Latin America, and India,” Putu said.

“The impact is only on transportation and logistics costs,” Putu added.

The Ministry of Industry has prepared mitigation measures and alternatives should the Middle East conflict escalate and impact Indonesia’s domestic industry.

“Possibly the agro sector will not be significantly affected, and hopefully our exports will have greater competitiveness because we have raw materials available domestically,” Putu said.
