Surabaya (ANTARA) - The Secretary of the Directorate General of Hajj Services at the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of the Republic of Indonesia, Abdul Haris, stated that services at Hajj embarkation points have been carried out in accordance with standard operational procedures through the One Stop Service (OSS) system for the initial departure of the 2026 Hajj season. “The first services for pilgrims must be fully guaranteed. Most embarkation points have implemented the SOP we have set, namely OSS,” said Abdul Haris after seeing off the first kloter of prospective Hajj pilgrims at the Surabaya Hajj Embarkation Dormitory (AHES) in Surabaya, East Java, on Wednesday. He explained that the implementation of OSS is part of the government’s readiness to ensure optimal services for pilgrims from the initial departure stage at the embarkation points. Meanwhile, on Wednesday (22/4), 11 embarkation points in Indonesia began dispatching their inaugural flight groups (kloters) of prospective Hajj pilgrims. “Alhamdulillah, today and partly last night or in the early hours, we have started the departure of the inaugural kloters at most embarkation points in Indonesia,” he said. The government hopes, he added, that the entire departure process will run smoothly in line with the expectations of the President and the Minister of Hajj and Umrah. “Usually, Hajj departures are accompanied by problems, including non-Hajj visa pilgrims, which we have anticipated together with other stakeholders to prevent it from happening,” he stated. In addition, for services in Saudi Arabia, Haris assured that all needs of the pilgrims have been prepared, from accommodation and transportation to meals. He added that preparations for receiving pilgrims in Madinah have been coordinated with on-site officials, including services from the airport to the hotel as well as health facilities. Regarding accommodation, Haris said, the government has prepared around 100 hotels in Madinah to accommodate Indonesian prospective Hajj pilgrims. Furthermore, he added, the completeness of documents for prospective Hajj pilgrims in 2026 has been fulfilled, including visas and the Nusuk Card, which can now be received starting from the embarkation points. As for the distribution of the Nusuk Card, Haris said, it is supported by cooperation with two companies that have opened service offices in Indonesia to ensure smooth card activation at every embarkation point. “Alhamdulillah, this year pilgrims receive all the required documents upon arrival, starting from visas, including the Nusuk Card,” he explained.
