Ministry of Hajj and Umrah to Distribute Nusuk Cards at Padang Hajj Embarkation Point
Padang (ANTARA) - The West Sumatra Regional Office (Kanwil) of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj) will distribute Nusuk Cards to prospective Hajj pilgrims from the province and Bengkulu at the Padang Hajj Embarkation through an integrated one-stop service.
“For the Nusuk Cards, insha’Allah they will be distributed at the Hajj Dormitory, specifically at the one-stop service,” said the Head of the West Sumatra Kanwil Kemenhaj, M. Rifki, in Padang on Saturday.
This was stated by M. Rifki in relation to the readiness of the Padang Hajj Embarkation to dispatch prospective Hajj pilgrims from West Sumatra and Bengkulu Province, who will begin entering the local Hajj dormitory on 23 April 2026.
M. Rifki explained that distributing the Nusuk Cards at the Hajj dormitory is estimated to take about one minute per prospective pilgrim. This means an additional queuing time for handing over the Nusuk Cards of around 6 hours and 33 minutes for the first flight group (kloter) consisting of 393 people.
To smooth the Nusuk Card distribution mechanism, the West Sumatra Kanwil Kemenhaj will socialise it on Monday (20/4/2026). In addition, the Kanwil Kemenhaj will also hand over passports, living costs, identity bracelets, and other items at the one-stop service.
The Nusuk Card is a digital identity that must be used by Hajj pilgrims while in Saudi Arabia. The card is provided and must be activated by the Hajj service provider company contracted by the government. This card functions to distinguish between official and illegal pilgrims, and contains information such as name, photo, place and date of birth, accommodation location, and other important data of the pilgrim.
In addition to serving as identification, the Nusuk Card is also the main requirement for pilgrims to access services and main areas, such as the city of Makkah and the Masjidil Haram. The Nusuk Card complements the Hajj visa that pilgrims must carry.
For the 1447 Hijriah Hajj season, the West Sumatra Kanwil Kemenhaj will dispatch 5,282 prospective Hajj pilgrims, a combination from West Sumatra and Bengkulu.
“Before the prospective Hajj pilgrims depart, we will first accommodate them at the Padang Hajj Dormitory and then they will proceed to the holy land,” he said.
