Jakarta – The Ministry of Finance reported that net tax revenue reached Rp245.1 trillion, growing 30.4 per cent year-on-year, through the end of February 2026.

This realisation equates to 10.4 per cent of the 2026 national budget target. Meanwhile, revenue from customs and excise duties totalled Rp44.9 trillion, or approximately 13.4 per cent of the target, though still experiencing a contraction of 14.7 per cent compared to the same period in the previous year.

During an “APBN KITA” press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday, Deputy Minister of Finance Suahasil Nazara reported that tax revenue growth was primarily supported by the performance of value-added tax (PPN) and luxury goods sales tax (PPnBM), reflecting increased economic activity and transactions.

“What is particularly notable is that PPN and PPnBM growth reached 97.4 per cent. Naturally, this reflects a combination of various factors. However, I wish to emphasise that PPN and PPnBM are collected when transactions occur,” said Suahasil.

In nominal terms, PPN and PPnBM revenue totalled Rp85.9 trillion, growing 97.4 per cent. Additionally, corporate income tax (PPh Badan) grew 44 per cent. Meanwhile, personal income tax (PPh Orang Pribadi) and income tax article 21 (PPh Pasal 21) increased 3.4 per cent.

Final income tax, income tax article 22, and income tax article 26 grew 4.4 per cent, whilst other tax sources increased 24.2 per cent.

On a gross basis, total tax revenue reached Rp336.9 trillion, growing 12.7 per cent compared to the same period in the previous year.

Suahasil identified four principal sectors as the largest contributors to gross tax revenue.

First, the processing industry with revenue of Rp100.1 trillion, contributing 28.7 per cent.

Second, the commerce sector, contributing Rp83.2 trillion, or approximately 24.7 per cent of total gross tax revenue.

Third, the finance and insurance sector with a contribution of Rp32.4 trillion, or approximately 9.6 per cent.

Fourth, the mining sector, providing revenue of Rp33.8 trillion, or approximately 10 per cent.

“These four sectors collectively account for approximately 74 per cent of gross tax revenue,” said Suahasil.
