Jakarta — The Standards, Curriculum, and Educational Assessment Body (BSKAP) of the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education has incorporated three new indicators to strengthen the function of the Education Report as a key instrument for evidence-based planning at both educational institution and local government levels.

Head of BSKAP Toni Toharudin emphasised that the update represents an important opportunity to strengthen a culture of reflection and evidence-based decision-making throughout the entire education ecosystem.

“The updated Education Report with 2025 Educational Service Quality Achievement Data provides a more precise picture of the position of each educational institution and region. This data must be utilised as a foundation for systematic and sustainable planning and intervention priorities,” Toharudin said in Jakarta on Thursday.

He stressed that the Education Report is not intended as a tool for comparing schools with one another, but rather as an internal reflection instrument that helps educational institutions recognise their strengths and areas requiring improvement.

According to him, consistent use of data in each planning cycle will accelerate learning transformation and improve accountability for education policy at the regional level.

In this year’s update, three new indicators have been introduced to the Education Report.

The first new indicator is the “7 Habits of Outstanding Indonesian Children,” which forms part of efforts to strengthen student character development.

Secondly, the ministry has included an indicator on the Availability of Educational Books to ensure adequate learning resources in educational institutions.

The third new indicator is Disaster and Climate Change Preparedness to ensure that educational institutions are ready to face disaster and climate change risks.

The ministry hopes the Education Report will present a more comprehensive and holistic picture of educational service quality, as the data encompasses learning achievement, the quality of learning processes and environments, and various supporting indicators that influence continuous quality improvement.
