Ministry of Defence Releases 2,000 Civil Servants for Komcad Training
The Ministry of Defence has dispatched 2,019 civil servants (ASN) who passed the selection process to participate in the first wave of the reserve component (Komcad) training programme. The send-off was led by the Head of the National Reserve Agency of the Ministry of Defence, Lieutenant General Gabriel Lema, at the National Monument field in Jakarta on Monday, 13 April 2026.
He stated that these 2,000 prospective Komcad civil servants come from 49 ministries and government agencies. They will be distributed to six educational institutions owned by the Ministry of Defence and the Indonesian National Armed Forces to undergo 45 days of Komcad training, having previously passed administrative and health tests.
The six educational institutions facilitating this Komcad training programme include Puskombelneg BPSDM Kemhan, Rindam Jaya, Pusdikes Puskesat, Brigif 1 Pasmar, Pusbahasa Kodiklat AU, and Wingdik 500 Atang Sanjaya. The civil servant participants in the Komcad training will be tested on physical competence, psychology, and ideological mentality.
Gabriel said that the 2,019 civil servants will also participate in a basic military training programme. The opening of the basic military training is scheduled for 22 April 2026 at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base in East Jakarta.
“Special basic military training education for forming Komcad,” said the three-star general after opening the departure roll call for the Komcad participant civil servants at the Monas field in Jakarta on Monday, 13 April 2026.
According to him, forming Komcad can provide the state with knowledge about the capabilities and readiness of the civil servant community. Forming Komcad from the civil servant community, he said, also aims to ensure that national defence can be well maintained and safeguarded.
“Let us have a view on how that task (protecting the state) can be realised by preparing solid, professional human resources with Indonesian character and culture,” he said.
The Ministry of Defence has also prepared a curriculum to be implemented in this Komcad training programme for civil servants. Gabriel said the Komcad training programme for civil servants is oriented towards building corps spirit, care, discipline, problem-solving, and mental resilience. “(Whereas) the curriculum with a military nuance is limited to limited knowledge,” he stated.
