Jakarta — The Ministry of Creative Economy (Kemenekraf) is preparing a financing facility with a ceiling of up to IDR 10 trillion for creative economy actors through an IP-based Kredit Usaha Rakyat (KUR) scheme. Under this scheme, creative economy entrepreneurs can access loans of around IDR 100 million to IDR 500 million, with disbursement to be channelled through a partnership with the National Creative Economy Movement (GEKRAFS).

“We are advocating intellectual property as the main collateral. It is still in a transition period, so it is used as supporting collateral while we build trust with financial institutions,” said Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya in Jakarta on Sunday.

To accelerate these efforts, the Ministry of Creative Economy will form a Task Force (Satgas) with GEKRAFS as the government’s strategic partner.

He said this at the closing of the GEKRAFS National Working Meeting (Rakernas) in Jakarta.

Several initiatives have been implemented together, ranging from a series of Creative Month activities titled Oktoberkreasi ahead of National Creative Economy Day, to facilitating meetings between Indonesian creative economy practitioners and a Japanese creative community in Osaka.

The Minister of Creative Economy also announced that the Presidential Regulation on the Master Plan for the Creative Economy 2026–2045 has been completed and will be enacted soon.

He urged GEKRAFS to play a role in amplifying and socialising the policy to creative economy actors across the regions.

Teuku emphasised GEKRAFS’ role as a strategic partner of the government in strengthening the creative economy as a new engine of national growth starting from the regions.

“Over the past seven years, GEKRAFS, as the government’s strategic partner, has grown from a community into a national movement with more than 38,000 members in 38 provinces and hundreds of regencies and cities,” he said.

“If President Prabowo has Asta Cita, we are also presenting Asta Karya, eight programmes to empower creative economy practitioners. We thank the Ministry of Creative Economy for appointing Intellectual Property Appraisers, so the works of creators can now serve as collateral to obtain fair access to finance,” he said.

GEKRAFS’ Rakernas 2026, themed “Astakarya: Accelerating Works, Transforming Indonesia’s Economy”, was held over two days on 6–7 March 2026.

The event was attended by GEKRAFS leadership from across the country and discussed strategic issues, including access to financing, protection of intellectual property, digital transformation, strengthening creative hubs and expanding market access so Indonesian creative products can become more global.

At the close of this Rakernas, GEKRAFS also submitted a report of recommendations arising from the Rakernas to the Ministry of Creative Economy as input to strengthen policy and programmes for developing the creative economy sector.

The recommendations are expected to align the actions of creative economy practitioners with the national development vision.

On the same occasion, the Ministry of Creative Economy also received the Best Strategic Collaboration Award from GEKRAFS as recognition of the ministry’s synergy and support in strengthening the national creative economy ecosystem.
