Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar discussed opportunities for creative economy cooperation between Indonesia and Berlin to strengthen Indonesian creative talents in the international market.

“International collaboration must deliver tangible impacts for Indonesia’s creative economy players, whether through market access, global networks, or cross-border collaboration spaces. We want Indonesian talents to have greater opportunities to showcase themselves in the international ecosystem,” Irene stated in a press release received on Wednesday.

The discussed opportunities include creative talent exchange, strengthening startup networks, and expanding international market access for Indonesian creative talents.

Deputy Minister Umar also emphasised the importance of strengthening Indonesia’s position in the global creative ecosystem through cross-border collaboration.

“We aim to demonstrate that Indonesia not only has creative products but also the capacity to build influence through culture, innovation, and talent. Cross-border collaboration is crucial to connect Indonesian creative works with the global ecosystem and enhance competitiveness,” the Deputy Minister said.

The programme is designed to expand exposure for local intellectual property while opening up international market access and networks for Indonesia’s creative economy players.

During the discussions, both parties also explored opportunities to enhance the promotion of Indonesian creative products through a collaborative approach that connects culture, technology, and creative experiences, ensuring Indonesian creative works are more relevant in global markets.

CEO and Co-Founder of Hi Incubator and AsiaBerlin Ambassador, Daniel Tumewu, explained that Berlin is currently developing as one of Europe’s creative and startup ecosystem hubs, open to exchanging ideas, culture, and innovation from various countries.

The audience session opened opportunities for follow-up collaboration between Indonesia and Berlin through creative talent exchange programmes, international forums, and cross-ecosystem promotion involving talents and creative economy players from both countries.

The Ministry of Creative Economy reiterated its commitment to continuously expand international collaborations that strengthen capacity, market access, and global competitiveness for Indonesia’s creative economy players.
