Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Creative Economy (Kemenekraf), together with representatives from event organisers and music production companies, discussed strategic collaboration to increase the exposure of Indonesian music talent and works in overseas markets.

Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar welcomed the initiative to organise music festivals integrated with cross-border digital promotion and exposure strategies to expand the reach of Indonesian music.

“The Ministry of Creative Economy is ready to help introduce Indonesian music talent to the global stage through digital promotion collaboration and network strengthening so that their potential can be seen more widely,” she said whilst receiving representatives from event organiser and music production company Sang Juara Project Limited in Jakarta on Thursday (19/2).

Irene said that the initiative to organise music festivals integrated with cross-border digital promotion and exposure strategies was in line with the Creative Acceleration (AKTIF) Music programme to promote community-based international collaboration.

The meeting between the Deputy Minister of Creative Economy and representatives of Sang Juara Project Limited also discussed the importance of strengthening data, talent curation, and integrated promotional strategies to increase the reach of Indonesian music in global markets.

“It is important to provide space for new talents through showcases, open mic events, and community activations so that the music ecosystem chain can grow sustainably,” said Irene.

Sang Juara Project Limited is an event organiser and music production company operating in Hong Kong. The company, officially registered on 23 April 2024, originally began as a community of talented Indonesian singers actively participating in competitions and music events in Hong Kong.

“From community for community, Sang Juara has brought local artists to introduce their works to Hong Kong,” said Kenneth Hans Periatna, event manager of Sang Juara.

“In early February, we invited NDX A.K.A and DJ Panda, who drew 7,000 spectators in a single day. We also organised the Ambyar Music Fest 2025, which featured Denny Caknan with 14,000 spectators at a single event,” he said.

He added that these events were aimed at the audience segment of Indonesian workers in Hong Kong.

Kevin Frans Periatna, general manager of Sang Juara Project Limited, expressed plans to organise a religious music performance in Hong Kong.

“There are approximately 140 majelis taklim (Islamic study groups) in Hong Kong, so we are providing a platform to showcase religious music,” he said.

“We will be bringing Ustad AA Hilman and Haddad Alwi on 26 April 2026 to serve the religious community, which is also strong in Hong Kong. Our hope is that we can bring religious music from Indonesia to the international stage,” he added.

Sang Juara Project Limited conveyed its need for promotional support and cross-border collaboration facilitation to enhance the stage presence of Indonesian music talent.
