Ministry of Cooperatives Strengthens Synergy Among Regional Heads of Cooperatives for KDKMP Operations
It is known that this national coordination meeting serves as a strategic forum to strengthen synergy among stakeholders to ensure the operationalisation process of the Red and White Village/Urban Village Cooperatives (KDKMP) runs smoothly.
Cooperative Minister Ferry Juliantono appreciated all the support from regional governments and related Ministries/Institutions, enabling the national strategic programme KDKMP to proceed from the legal entity formation process to the operationalisation stage that will soon be carried out.
He emphasised that without support and involvement from all parties, this programme would be difficult to implement, and thus consistency in that support is hoped to continue until the operationalisation stage.
“I appreciate all the Heads of Regional Cooperative Offices at both provincial and regency/city levels, as we have successfully carried out the Presidential Instruction on the formation of KDKMP legal entities,” said Ferry in his statement on Wednesday (13/5/2026).
The first stage of operationalisation inauguration for KDKMP in Central Java and East Java provinces will involve 1,061 units, with symbolic inauguration to be held at a KDKMP in the Nganjuk region of East Java.
Meanwhile, regarding the progress of KDKMP construction as of today, Wednesday (13/5), 37,327 units are being built or have been built across Indonesia, and 8,927 units have been 100 percent completed, including retail outlets, warehouses, and other facilities.
“The success of KDKMP is not just about legal entities or buildings, but they must function to sell basic necessities, absorb community production outputs, and distribute central government programmes,” Ferry stressed.
Furthermore, Ferry mentioned that as the umbrella legal guideline for KDKMP operationalisation, a Presidential Instruction (Inpres) will soon be issued, with the draft already submitted to the State Secretariat Ministry (Setneg). This draft contains efforts to accelerate KDKMP operationalisation involving cross-sectoral Ministries and Institutions.
“Its points cover the business model, recruitment of human resources for operationalisation, management information systems, and so on,” he said.
Ferry reiterated that if 83,000 KDKMP operate well, Indonesia will become the only country with the largest and most successful number of village cooperatives in the world. The President views this achievement as a historic milestone in people’s economic development.
“The existence of KDKMP is expected to play an important role in creating economic hubs in villages or urban villages. Even aggregately, cooperatives are hoped to become the main economic institution with significant influence on national economic growth,” said Ferry.
In addition, Ferry emphasised that through this national coordination meeting, collaborative work across ministries, institutions, and regional heads is necessary so that the operationalisation process can run well. This synergy is believed to restore cooperatives as the main instrument of economic development in line with the constitution.
“May our struggle become a big step in building an independent, strong, and prosperous people’s economy, and position cooperatives as the pillar of the national economy,” said Ferry.
For information, attendees at the national coordination meeting included Deputy Cooperative Minister Farida Farichah, Ministry Secretary Ahmad Zabadi, Eselon I and II officials at the Ministry, Managing Director of the Cooperative Revolving Fund Management Institution (LPDB) Krisdianto, as well as Heads of Regional Offices at Provincial, Regency/City levels across Indonesia.
