Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education Writes to Schools to Socialise PP Tunas Regulation
Jakarta — The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education will send letters to schools to socialise Government Regulation Number 17 of 2025 concerning the Governance of Electronic System Operators in Child Protection (PP Tunas).
“The Minister of Basic and Secondary Education has indicated willingness to send letters to schools to help socialise this PP Tunas regulation,” said Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Meutya Hafid whilst chairing a coordination meeting on PP Tunas implementation in Jakarta on Wednesday.
During the meeting, Minister of Basic and Secondary Education Abdul Mu’ti expressed his ministry’s full support for PP Tunas implementation. His ministry has issued Ministerial Regulation Number 6 of 2026 concerning Safe and Comfortable School Culture.
“We fully support the implementation of PP Tunas and have issued Ministerial Regulation Number 6 of 2026,” said Abdul Mu’ti. He stated that the ministerial regulation represents a detailed implementation of PP Tunas.
“This effort is undertaken to build a school culture where an atmosphere of mutual respect, mutual respect, and mutual support for learning success develops, and to make schools a second home for children,” said Abdul Mu’ti.
According to him, safe and comfortable school culture will be developed through governance, education, and collaboration involving all school stakeholders, applying nine core principles: humanistic, comprehensive, participatory, best interests of the child, non-discriminatory, inclusive, gender justice and equality, harmonious, and sustainable.
The coordination meeting was also attended by Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, Minister for Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection Arifah Fauzi, Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar, and Minister for Population and Family Development/Head of BKKBN Wihaji.
