Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education verifies proposal for integrated national school in HST
Banjarmasin (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemdikdasmen) has dispatched a field verification and validation team to assess the proposal for an Integrated National School (SNT) in Hulu Sungai Tengah (HST) district, South Kalimantan. HST Secretary Muhammad Yani in Barabai on Wednesday stated that the team from the Directorate General of Early Childhood Education, Basic Education, Non-Formal Education, and Informal Education (Dirjen PAUD Dikdas and PNFI) has arrived in HST to commence the task. “We welcome the Kemdikdasmen team in conducting the verification and validation of the integrated national school proposal in HST,” he said. Yani explained that the HST Regency Government has proposed a scenario for new construction of an integrated national school in the Banua Jingah village area and a scenario for consolidating existing schools. “We are committed to preparing the land. We thank Kemdikdasmen for conducting the field verification in HST district,” he added. Moreover, currently in South Kalimantan province, only two districts are undergoing verification and validation for phase one integrated national school targets in 2026, namely Hulu Sungai Tengah and Barito Kuala districts. Meanwhile, Minhajul Ngabidin from the Verification Team of Dirjen PAUD Dikdas and PNFI under Kemdikdasmen explained in his presentation that in 2026, integrated national schools are targeted to be established at 100 schools, comprising 50 new buildings and 50 upgrades to existing schools. The land proposed by the HST Regency Government spans 7 hectares, so they are encouraging an increase to 20 hectares as per the requirements for new integrated national school construction. “Our verification results have scored 70, meaning we just need to address some notes from us until it passes for HST district to build an integrated national school in the first year,” he revealed. Minhajul Ngabidin explained that after the field verification stage, they will conduct discussions at the ministry level, which will also be communicated with local government. “The target determination is around the end of July 2026. Afterwards, it will proceed with planning and construction in the same year,” he clarified. According to data from the Directorate of Primary Schools, there are only 125 proposals from regional governments across Indonesia for 2026, while the target for integrated national school construction in 2026 is 100.
