Jakarta — Indonesia’s Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) has inaugurated the completion of the Educational Unit Revitalisation Programme for the 2025 fiscal year in Bireuen District, Aceh Province, to enhance the quality and comfort of the learning process for students.

Minister Abdul Mu’ti stated that the inauguration marked the completion of the Educational Unit Revitalisation Programme for fiscal year 2025 in Aceh Province, which reached 726 schools with a total budget of approximately IDR 688.2 billion covering all education levels, from early childhood education (PAUD), basic and secondary education, to non-formal education.

“The Educational Unit Revitalisation Programme targeting Bireuen District, Aceh Province, has successfully inspired the learning spirit of students and teachers by improving comfort during teaching and learning activities,” said Minister Mu’ti in a written statement in Jakarta on Thursday.

For the Educational Unit Revitalisation Programme for the 2026 fiscal year in Bireuen District, 116 schools affected by disasters have signed cooperation agreements with a total assistance value reaching IDR 167.4 billion.

“Today we will lay the foundation stone for development at Muhajidin State Kindergarten, which has received revitalisation assistance for 2026. This is a realisation of the 2026 revitalisation which, thank God, we have partially established and can now commence construction,” said Minister Mu’ti.

The minister further noted that the development of educational facilities and infrastructure through revitalisation does not focus solely on physical construction but also forms part of a strategic effort to make education a means of building an excellent Indonesian generation through the provision of adequate facilities and infrastructure.

“Building a school building is not merely about constructing high walls, but about building a solid foundation in order to develop Indonesian children who are intelligent and of good character,” he added.

During the occasion, Mu’ti also urged all beneficiaries to utilise and properly maintain the facilities that have been constructed.

He emphasised that educational facilities built through the revitalisation programme represent a long-term investment for the nation’s future.
