The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) is allocating IDR 527 billion for the revitalisation of hundreds of schools in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). The budget will be allocated for the repair of 530 school buildings.

“We would like to inform you that for 2025 in NTB, the total assistance for revitalisation amounts to 530 schools with a value of IDR 527 billion,” said Minister of Basic and Secondary Education Abdul Mu’ti when attending the inauguration of the school revitalisation program in East Lombok, NTB, Sunday (17/5/2026).

The hundreds of schools in NTB consist of 69 Early Childhood Education (PAUD) units, 227 elementary schools (SD), 107 junior high schools (SMP), 60 senior high schools (SMA), 17 vocational schools (SMK), 20 special needs schools (SLB), and 11 non-formal education centres (PKBM). The budget for the revitalisation of school buildings comes from the 2025 state budget.

In addition to the school building revitalisation program, Kemendikdasmen is also distributing 7,080 units of Interactive Flat Panels (IFP). Abdul Mu’ti said that the distribution of facilities and infrastructure aims to accelerate the digitalisation program for schools in NTB.

“All of this has been completed and distributed to schools in NTB, and the overall revitalisation construction has also been 100 percent completed,” said Mu’ti.

To improve the quality of educators in Indonesia, he added, Kemendikdasmen also has a program to fulfil the qualifications of teachers with D4 or S1 degrees. According to Mu’ti, the program which facilitates teachers to study at the S1/D4 level is carried out through a Prior Learning Recognition (RPL) scheme.

“We have allocated scholarships for 12,500 teachers who do not yet have a D4 or S1 education, each receiving a scholarship of IDR 3 million per semester,” said Mu’ti.

This year, he continued, the RPL program will target 100,000 teachers at all levels of education. He hopes that through this program, teachers can meet the qualifications so that they can improve the quality of education.

“We hope that teachers can meet the qualifications as mandated by law,” added Mu’ti.
