Ministry launches website

JAKARTA: The Directorate General of Home Trade at the Ministry
of Trade and Industry launched on Monday its website,
www.djpdn.go.id, which contains information on commodity prices,
regulations, licensing procedures and the list of local companies
as well as their products and services.

The website was intended to support trading activities in the
country, the agency said in a press release.

Directorate secretary Bachrul Chairi said the website also
aimed to collect trade data from the provinces across the country
so the ministry could come up with effective policies.

"The data could also be useful for academic and business
purposes. Particularly, business people will find the website
useful because it provides a list of 42,000 potential business
partners across the country," Bachrul said.

He said that anyone who needed the trade regulations no longer
needed to go to the directorate because the materials could be
downloaded from the website. -- JP
