Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - A number of ministries in President Prabowo Subianto’s Red and White Cabinet have submitted requests for additional budget allocations for the 2027 fiscal year during preliminary work plan and budget discussions with the House of Representatives (DPR).

Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita requested an additional Rp1.59 trillion for his ministry, on top of the indicative ceiling of Rp2.04 trillion, bringing the total proposed budget to Rp3.6 trillion. The extra funds are intended for restructuring industrial machinery, strengthening small and medium industries, downstreaming natural resources, vocational education, and developing industrial information systems. “We are proposing an additional budget of Rp1.59 trillion to strengthen the implementation of priority programmes that directly impact productivity, competitiveness, downstreaming, strengthening of small and medium industries, industrial human resource development, and national industrial transformation,” he stated during a working meeting with House Commission VII.

Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman requested an additional Rp22.43 trillion, on top of the indicative ceiling of Rp23.23 trillion. The additional budget would be used to meet targets for strategic food commodities including rice, corn, soybeans, palm oil, sugarcane, coffee, coconut, cocoa, nutmeg, pepper, milk, eggs, and meat. Amran explained that the ministry’s priority programme design for 2027 is directed at supporting the food sovereignty cluster, one of eight national priority programme clusters. He also requested an additional Rp17.73 trillion for the National Food Agency, far exceeding its indicative ceiling of Rp110.3 billion, to support national food development targets and various government programmes.

Minister of Cooperatives Ferry Juliantono requested an additional Rp1.34 trillion, compared to an indicative ceiling of Rp542.88 billion. The funds would accelerate the operationalisation of more than 80,000 Red and White Village Cooperatives and support broader cooperative development nationwide. “Given the magnitude of the challenges and the broad scope of the programmes mandated to the Ministry of Cooperatives, we propose an additional budget of Rp1.34 trillion for 2027,” Ferry explained.

Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono requested an additional Rp30 trillion, on top of an indicative ceiling of Rp15.63 trillion. The funds are needed to expedite various government priority programmes, including the construction of Red and White Fishing Villages, revitalisation of fish ponds, and empowerment of coastal communities.

Meanwhile, Minister of Trade Budi Santoso has not yet confirmed any additional budget request, noting that the indicative ceiling for 2027 could potentially be lower than the previous year’s allocation. He emphasised that discussions are still ongoing and the figures are not yet final.

The list of ministries requesting additional budget for the 2027 fiscal year includes: Ministry of Industry (additional Rp1.59 trillion), Ministry of Agriculture (additional Rp22.43 trillion), Ministry of Cooperatives (additional Rp1.35 trillion), Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (additional Rp30 trillion), Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (additional Rp1.52 trillion), Ministry of Religious Affairs (additional Rp27.9 trillion), Ministry of Defence (additional Rp195 trillion), Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (additional Rp3.23 trillion), Ministry of Social Affairs (additional Rp22.49 trillion), and Ministry of Home Affairs (additional Rp6.27 trillion).
