Minister: The success of the DTSEN system depends on implementation at the village level
Karawang (ANTARA) - Minister of Villages and Underdeveloped Regions (Mendes PDT) Yandri Susanto stated that the success of the National Socio-Economic Data System (DTSEN) is largely determined by those implementing it at the village level, including village assistants.
“Indonesia now has a unified data framework, eliminating discrepancies between ministries. Under President Prabowo’s leadership, we follow a single reference point, which is DTSEN. The success of this system depends heavily on its implementation at the village level,” said Minister Yandri during a DTSEN socialisation event with Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Saifullah Yusuf in Karawang Regency, West Java, on Thursday.
Minister Yandri explained that the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) and the Ministry of Villages and Underdeveloped Regions (Kemendes PDT) have a strong overlap, as many of their programs are implemented in villages. The majority of beneficiaries of social programs are also located in villages, so all assistance must refer to one crucial element: data.
“Data is the key. Without accurate data, policies will be misdirected. We must ensure that those who are entitled to assistance receive it, while those who are not entitled do not. This is a matter of national policy,” said Minister Yandri.
“Village heads, village assistants, and in the future, village operators, will play a vital role in data collection. We know that Indonesia has a large number of villages, namely 75,266. If all these villages have clean and accurate data, then Indonesia will be much stronger in implementing policies that are well-targeted,” he added.
With the DTSEN, the Ministry of Villages and Underdeveloped Regions not only collects data but also actively uses it.
“We have collaborated with BPS (Statistics Indonesia), the Ministry of Social Affairs, and various other parties. All elements, including village assistants, assistants for the Family Hope Program (PKH), Social Welfare Officers at the sub-district level (TKSK), operators, village heads, and sub-district heads, must work seriously and professionally,” said Minister of Villages and Underdeveloped Regions Yandri Susanto.
