Jakarta – The Minister of State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform, Rini Widyantini, and Health Minister, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, inspected public healthcare services at Dharmais Cancer Hospital in Jakarta on Monday, 16 March 2026, to ensure that health sector services continue to operate optimally ahead of the Eid al-Fitr holiday period.

During her visit, Rini emphasised that the government is committed to ensuring public services, particularly healthcare, remain accessible to the public despite operational adjustments during the holiday period.

“We want to ensure that public services remain optimal during religious holidays and national holidays. From the information I received, Dharmais Hospital will continue to provide services, although outpatient services will be temporarily halted from 20 to 24 March,” Rini stated after the inspection.

“Emergency services will continue 24 hours a day. This means the hospital remains ready, because healthcare is a very essential service,” she added.

Rini also urged the public not to worry if they require healthcare services during the holiday period, as hospitals will remain open for emergency cases. She also expressed appreciation to the Health Ministry staff, medical personnel and all employees of Dharmais Cancer Hospital who remain dedicated to serving the public.

“I extend my appreciation and gratitude to all Health Ministry staff, particularly Dharmais Hospital and the doctors who have dedicated their work to serving the community,” she said.

Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin confirmed that all hospitals under the Health Ministry will remain operational to handle emergency cases during the extended holiday period. The inspection revealed many patients continuing to seek treatment and various service innovations developed by the hospital.

“I saw many patients today and there are various innovations that have been implemented by Dharmais Hospital. Moving forward, it is hoped that these services will continue to be developed, including online-based services so that service data can be distributed evenly,” Budi said after the inspection.

Budi explained that there are currently nearly 40 hospitals owned by the Health Ministry across Indonesia. During the extended holiday period, these hospitals will remain operational to serve patients with emergency conditions.

According to him, emergency services such as stroke patients, CT scan procedures and surgery for bleeding cases will continue to operate normally.

“During the extended holiday in accordance with the President’s direction, all Health Ministry hospitals will remain operational for emergency procedures. For example, if a stroke patient arrives at the emergency department, the emergency services, CT scan, and surgery if needed will continue to operate,” he said.
