Minister of Religious Affairs: Bengkulu Province is one of the most harmonious regions
Bengkulu City (ANTARA) - Indonesia’s Minister of Religious Affairs, Nassarudin Umar, stated that Bengkulu Province is one of the provinces in Indonesia that is most harmonious among interfaith communities.
“I am proud and salute that Bengkulu is one of the regions that is most harmonious, peaceful, and serene,” said the Minister in Bengkulu City on Thursday.
This is known based on the index obtained by the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, which shows that Bengkulu Province is one of the most harmonious provinces among interfaith communities.
This is because all religious life in Bengkulu Province is mutually friendly, starting from Islam, Christianity, Catholicism, Buddhism, Hinduism, and cross-religious figures are mutually friendly.
Previously, Indonesia’s Minister of Religious Affairs, Nassarudin Umar, released thousands of endemic fish seedlings, namely snakehead fish, and hundreds of sparrows in the Danau Dendam Tak Sudah area, Bengkulu City, Bengkulu Province.
The release of thousands of fish seedlings and hundreds of birds was carried out as one of the government’s efforts to maintain and preserve the environment.
“This is symbolism of saving nature as well as symbolism of human friendship with nature. The more friendly nature and humans are, the more prosperous and prosperous life will be in this vast universe,” he said.
Nassarudin called on all people in Bengkulu Province to help care for the environment along with the universe, such as birds, fish, animals, plants, and all living creatures.
“The entire universe must be saved, do not pollute the environment, because polluting the environment is a sin, and if tomorrow this world ends, you should still plant trees, said the Prophet. So, it is important to plant trees. There should be no day without planting trees and no day without forest burning,” Nassarudin emphasised firmly.
Meanwhile, Bengkulu Mayor Dedy Wahyudi stated that Bengkulu Province is a safe area with no history of interfaith conflicts.
“The fact is indeed so, Bengkulu Province is the safest, most harmonious, and has never had inter-religious or inter-ethnic conflicts. This must be maintained and cared for, a potential not possessed by other regions as long as we maintain it together,” he said.
