Minister of Manpower: Ensuring worker safety is a company's primary obligation
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Manpower Yassierli has affirmed that ensuring the safety of workers during their work is the primary responsibility of companies.
“Companies are responsible for ensuring the safety of all workers. I want workers to leave their homes to earn a living and return safely. That is the company’s responsibility,” said Minister Yassierli in a statement in Jakarta, Thursday.
Therefore, the aspect of occupational safety and health (K3) is very important to uphold.
The government, through the Ministry of Manpower, has officially provided free training for 4,025 participants in the General K3 Expert Training and Certification program, divided into two phases, namely February-March and April-May 2026.
According to him, strengthening K3 ultimately comes down to the most basic thing, namely that workers can work safely and companies are able to protect everyone in the workplace responsibly.
He explained that last year, the Ministry of Manpower received attention and input from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) regarding the need for transparency in the costs of General K3 Expert training.
At that time, the training costs varied, ranging from IDR 6 million to IDR 8 million or more, depending on the training facilities, because the determination of training prices was entirely left to each organizer.
