JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Minister of Hajj and Umrah (Menhaj) of the Republic of Indonesia, Irfan Yusuf, advised Musrif Diny (pilgrimage guides) to safeguard the purity of worship and guide Hajj pilgrims with sincerity.

“They are tasked with preserving the sanctity of worship, guiding rituals correctly, and ensuring that pilgrims understand the conveniences of Sharia without losing the spiritual essence of Hajj,” stated Irfan while seeing off the departure of Musrif Diny, as quoted in his statement on Tuesday (12/5/2026).

He emphasised the importance of Musrif Diny understanding fiqh taisir, or the jurisprudence of ease, in providing worship guidance services.

This is because Indonesian Hajj pilgrims come in diverse conditions, including elderly pilgrims, those with physical limitations, and those facing emergency situations on the ground.

“Our pilgrims are not all in the same physical condition. There are the elderly, those with health limitations, and field situations that require quick decisions,” he said.

Several worship service schemes, such as Special Arafat Stay Safari, Passing Through in Muzdalifah, and Descent in Mina, require strong support from the worship guides.

These schemes must also be explained accurately to pilgrims to avoid causing doubts in performing worship.

“The Special Arafat Stay Safari, Passing Through, or Descent are not merely technical arrangements. They have a jurisprudential foundation that must be understood and conveyed well to pilgrims. Musrif Diny must be a reassuring reference,” he said.

The Menhaj advised the Musrif Diny to maintain integrity, patience, and sincerity in carrying out their duties.

“We hope that the Musrif Diny become a strengthening force for worship services in the Holy Land. Guide pilgrims with knowledge, serve with heart, and make every accompaniment part of devotion to the ummah,” the Menhaj concluded.
