Kupang, NTT - The Minister of Basic and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen), Abdul Mu’ti, strengthened literacy by distributing 100 reading books to pupils at SD Inpres Noelbaki in Kupang Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province (NTT), on Tuesday. He delivered the diverse non-textbook literacy enrichment books through the Reading Corner programme to increase reading interest among the pupils at the school. With the allocated budget, Mu’ti explained that SD Inpres Noelbaki will build nine new classrooms, one administration room, one toilet package with sanitation, and one teacher residence. In addition, he continued, the same budget will be used to rehabilitate one library room, nine classrooms, one toilet room, and environmental improvements for two packages. His side targets the entire revitalisation and rehabilitation process to take place over five months, so the school is planned to conduct teaching and learning activities in a better environment around next October. “So, this is in line with completing President Pak’s programme for revitalising and building green schools so that children can learn well, learn safely and comfortably, so that they are more enthusiastic and more motivated,” said Mu’ti. For information, the total number of educational units that will receive the educational unit revitalisation programme in NTT Province in the 2026 fiscal year is 809 schools across various education levels, with a total budget of Rp630.8 billion.
