The government is also promoting educational digitalisation through the distribution of technology devices to schools across Indonesia. Sidoarjo, East Java (ANTARA) - Indonesia’s Minister of Basic and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen), Abdul Mu’ti, stated that the government, through relevant ministries, has implemented a school revitalisation programme for 45 educational units in Sidoarjo, East Java, in 2025. “In Sidoarjo Regency, there are 45 educational units receiving revitalisation assistance with a total budget of Rp45 billion. All have been carried out well and completed 100 percent,” Mu’ti said at the inauguration of school revitalisation in Sidoarjo on Tuesday. Mu’ti explained that the revitalisation assistance in Sidoarjo Regency covers basic education levels including kindergartens (TK), primary schools (SD), and junior secondary schools (SMP) for 29 educational units. The remainder includes senior secondary schools (SMA), vocational secondary schools (SMK), and special needs schools (SLB) in the relevant areas. According to him, the central government continues to accelerate revitalisation and digitalisation programmes in education to improve learning quality in Indonesia. He stated that the programme is part of President Prabowo Subianto’s directives in building quality education for Indonesia’s younger generation through equitable improvements in educational facilities and infrastructure. In addition to revitalisation, the government is also promoting educational digitalisation through the distribution of technology devices to schools throughout Indonesia. “In Sidoarjo Regency, the distribution of digital devices has reached 1,577 educational units,” he said. He also appreciated the efforts of the Sidoarjo Regency Government (Pemkab), which he assessed as actively supporting the implementation of revitalisation and digitalisation programmes so that they can be realised optimally. He hopes that the facilities allocated can be utilised and maintained well to support the quality of learning and education in Indonesia, especially in Sidoarjo.
