Minister Maruarar Sirait Meets BRI CEO to Discuss Housing and Credit Programs
Minister of Housing and Residential Areas Maruarar Sirait and Director of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BRI), Hery Gunardi, held a meeting to discuss People’s Business Credit (KUR), housing for SMEs, subsidised plot housing, subsidised flats, and satellite cities.
Ara explained that three professions are eligible for KUR: contractors, developers, and building materials stores.
“Criteria include a maximum capital of Rp10 billion and a maximum turnover of Rp50 billion,” Ara stated at BRI Sentra, Jalan Jenderal Sudirman Block 44-46, Central Jakarta, on Monday, 25 June 2026.
He said KUR offers two benefits: revolving credit up to Rp20 billion and a 5% subsidy.
“For example, an SME contractor currently borrowing at 11% interest would see it reduced to 6% with the subsidy,” he explained.
He emphasised that the scheme creates a new middle class due to low interest rates and promotes economic equality.
“Secondly, for demand under Rp100 million, no collateral is required for purchasing, constructing, or renovating a house,” he added.
Regarding the Housing Credit Program (KPP), Ara stated that national KPP implementation as of 25 May 2026 reached Rp16.8 trillion.
“On the supply side, there are 1,875 borrowers; on the demand side, 78,001 people,” he said.
He noted BRI’s KPP disbursement as of 25 May 2026 stood at Rp9.2 trillion, with 752 borrowers (Rp1.1 trillion) on the supply side and 65,576 borrowers (Rp8.1 trillion), accounting for 54% of national KPP implementation.
Ara praised PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia for its achievements, with BRI increasing KPP allocation from Rp8 trillion to Rp12 trillion.
“Rp8 trillion has been fully utilised. Now it’s Rp9.2 trillion. If I’m not mistaken, this was in April or early May — BRI has already reached 100%,” he stressed.
Hery Gunardi affirmed BRI’s support for the programme, particularly for economic equality, with the initiative available across all BRI branches nationwide.
“BRI has over 7,500 branches, including main and unit branches, spread across Indonesia,” Hery said.
“Both the public and borrowers can visit our widely accessible branches, and the programme is available at all locations,” he added.
