MINA — Indonesian Minister for Hajj and Umrah Mochamad Irfan Yusuf inspected the lower Jamarat site on Thursday evening (28 May 2026). Gus Irfan’s visit aimed to ensure the well-being of Indonesian pilgrims and monitor Hajj service staff, as well as inspect special Hajj services in Mina. According to Kompas.com, he arrived at approximately 10:25 pm Saudi time. At the lower Jamarat site, Gus Irfan approached and greeted Indonesian pilgrims who were about to or had already performed the stoning ritual. He noted that Indonesian pilgrims were complying with the regulations, stating, “Alhamdulillah, despite congestion earlier today, the process ran smoothly as our pilgrims adhered to the directive to avoid leaving during restricted hours for stoning,” after the inspection. He also spoke with several Hajj service officers stationed around the lower Jamarat site, asking, “How are things? Any issues?” while shaking hands and chatting with them. After touring the lower Jamarat area, Gus Irfan proceeded to the special Hajj tent to oversee the services. He stated, “Special Hajj pilgrims pay a relatively high fee. I want our pilgrims to receive their due entitlements and not feel shortchanged,” and added, “We also have a ministry team monitoring the process directly. Hopefully everything proceeds as expected.” Indonesian pilgrims are currently in Mina to perform the stoning of Jamarat al-Aqabah on 10 Dhu al-Hijjah following the wuquf ritual on 9 Dhu al-Hijjah. They will then perform the stoning of Jamarat al-Ula, al-Wusta, and al-Aqabah on the days of Tashriq — 11th, 12th (nafar awal), and 13th (nafar tsani) of Dhu al-Hijjah.
