Several mining companies have responded to the government’s single-channel export policy through state-owned enterprise PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia (DSI), which will be implemented gradually from 1 June 2026.

Bayan Resources Tbk (BYAN) corporate secretary Jenny Quantero stated the company respects and supports the government’s move to strengthen natural resource governance. ‘At present, we are still studying and conducting a comprehensive assessment of the policy to fully understand its implementation mechanism,’ she said in a disclosure to the Indonesia Stock Exchange on 29 May 2026. Quantero added that the coal mining firm has no immediate corporate action plans but will regularly evaluate operational and commercial strategies to ensure compliance with regulations and business continuity.

Bumi Resources (BUMI), a Bakrie Group subsidiary, also commented. Director Sri Dharmayanti said the company has not yet received the government regulation on export governance, so it cannot yet comment on the policy’s implications for its operations.

Amman Mineral Internasional Tbk (AMMN) president director Arief Widyawan Sidarto said it is too early to assess potential impacts of the draft regulation. ‘We are currently gathering information and evaluating potential impacts, including commodity coverage, implementation mechanisms, transition arrangements, and effects on contractual, operational, and financing relationships,’ he said in a disclosure on 29 May 2026.

Previously, Danantara Indonesia’s managing director for stakeholders management and communications, Rohan Hafas, said DSI would purchase commodities from domestic producers at market prices and not act as a price-setter. He added the company’s role is to oversee transactions to ensure market-based trade and prevent under-invoicing or under-pricing. ‘PT DSI will ensure transactions proceed normally with prices reflecting market rates. Its function is to assist the government in preventing under-invoicing,’ Hafas stated at a press conference in Jakarta on 20 May 2026.
