Minimarket in West Jakarta Sealed for Selling Golongan A Alcohol Without a Licence
JAKARTA — The Jakarta DKI Province Office of Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises (PPKUKM) temporarily sealed a minimarket with the initials HMI in West Jakarta. The action was taken after the outlet was found distributing Golongan A alcoholic beverages in retail without a licence. The finding emerged during routine supervision on 25 February 2026 at around 13:00 WIB at a shopping centre in West Jakarta. Based on a licensing document check via the Online Single Submission Risk-Based Approach (OSS RBA) system and on-site verification, the outlet HMI operates in the retail trade sector and holds a general trading business permit. However, the licensing data examined show that HMI does not have a KBLI specifically for alcoholic beverages verified in an active Nomor Induk Berusaha (NIB). Additionally, the outlet does not yet hold a Surat Keterangan Pengecer Minuman Beralkohol Golongan A (SKP-A). ‘On that basis, the activity of selling alcohol by HMI is suspected of not conforming to the business permit possessed,’ said Elisabeth. According to Elisabeth, the sale of alcoholic beverages must have a special permit. Because that permit is not held, the activity of selling alcohol by HMI is considered not in line with the existing permit. The outlet’s management was also given a written warning to promptly complete the permits in accordance with the regulations. Elisabeth emphasised that her agency will continue to monitor, especially during Ramadan and ahead of Eid al-Fitr. The monitoring is intended to ensure businesses comply with the rules and that the public feels safe when shopping. ‘Rising economic activity during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr must be accompanied by consistent supervision so that all business operators conduct their activities in an orderly, honest, and compliant manner,’ concluded Elisabeth.
