MIND ID's Free Homecoming Programme Eases Travellers' Burden, 1,700 People Transported
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Indonesia’s Mining Industry Holding, MIND ID, is once again supporting the 2026 Joint Homecoming programme by transporting 1,700 travellers using 28 buses and 4 ships. This programme provides a solution for the public who wish to return to their hometowns safely, comfortably, and without financial burden.
Mudik is an annual tradition deeply ingrained in Indonesian society. However, high transportation costs and heavy traffic flows often pose challenges for migrants returning to their home villages.
Through this free mudik programme, MIND ID aims to ease the burden on the public while ensuring a more orderly and comfortable journey.
The departure ceremony for the travellers, held at Gelora Bung Karno in Jakarta on Tuesday (17/3/2026), was lively. Hundreds of participants appeared enthusiastic as they prepared for departure, including Sri Yuniarti, who has participated in the programme three times.
“The service is excellent, the facilities are complete, and it really helps us. So we can mudik without worrying about costs,” said Sri.
Mudik participants receive various supporting facilities, such as travel equipment, meals, and medications to ensure comfort during the journey.
Fikro, an employee at the Directorate General of Minerals and Coal in the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, expressed a similar view. He believes the programme provides real benefits to the public.
“I hope programmes like this continue and can reach more people,” he said.
This Joint Homecoming programme is supported by all members of the MIND ID Group, namely ANTAM, Bukit Asam, INALUM, TIMAH, and Vale Indonesia, as part of the company’s commitment to contributing to society.
