Military Claims Legal Violations by Soldiers Declined in 2025
Jakarta, CNN Indonesia – The Indonesian Military (TNI) claims that violations committed by soldiers throughout 2025 decreased compared to 2024. TNI Military Police Center Commander Maj. Gen. Yusri Nuryanto explained that the decline was based on evaluation results of Discipline Enforcement Operations (Gaktib) and Judicial Operations throughout 2025.
“Discipline Enforcement Operations saw a decrease from 456 violations to 432 violations, or a decline of 5.62 percent. Judicial Operations decreased from 925 cases to 549 cases, or a decline of 40.64 percent,” Yusri said during a roll call at TNI Headquarters in East Jakarta on Friday (2/13).
According to him, this achievement shows progress but should not breed complacency. “Efforts in discipline development and law enforcement must continue to be improved consistently,” he said.
Yusri also explained that the decline in violations was due to two factors. First, soldiers are becoming more aware of not committing violations.
“Second, we also consistently prioritize education. Education, outreach — these are the methods we continue to develop,” he said.
He urged unit commanders to actively remind and guide their members not to commit violations.
“For evaluation purposes, units with high numbers of violations — well, this is certainly a leadership issue, a matter of unit development,” he said.
