Jakarta — Foreign investors continued to channel substantial capital into Indonesia’s portfolio investment instruments despite intensifying armed conflict in the Middle East, triggered by escalating tensions between Iran, America and Israel.

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa reported that during 2026 to date, total net foreign capital inflows into Indonesia reached Rp24.9 trillion.

This comprised foreign capital inflows of Rp23.2 trillion in February 2026 and Rp3.7 trillion through 6 March 2026, reduced by outflows of Rp1.9 trillion in January 2026.

“So in March, on a net basis, we still see inflows,” Purbaya stated during a state budget press conference at his office in Jakarta on Wednesday (11 February 2026).

Year-to-date accumulated inflows comprised Rp36.2 trillion into the SRBI (Bank Indonesia short-term bond) market, offset by Rp4 trillion outflows from the SBN (government bond) market and Rp7.3 trillion from the equity market.

For the period through 6 March 2026, Purbaya noted that foreign capital outflows occurred only in the SBN market at Rp700 billion, whilst SRBI received inflows of Rp2.2 trillion and equities Rp2.2 trillion.

“Going forward, the government, together with monetary authorities and the financial sector, will continue to strengthen policy coordination and measured stabilisation measures to preserve market stability and market confidence,” Purbaya said.
