Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Minister of Investment and Downstreaming Rosan Roeslani stated that, despite global geopolitical turbulence that could potentially disrupt the economy, opportunities for Indonesia remain open.

“Even amid the rising challenges of geopolitics and geo-economics in recent times, we see that opportunities are always available,” he said during a meeting with Commission XII at the DPR RI building in Jakarta on Monday (13/4/2026).

According to him, Indonesia is a country accepted by all nations because it aligns with other countries’ policies. This is reflected in the diplomacy conducted by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto to various countries, both in the Western region and China.

“We are open and non-aligned, so our presence can be seen from the President’s visits to various countries, including the United States, Western countries, China, Russia, and others; we are openly welcomed,” he explained.

“Even on this occasion, our President is meeting and is currently en route to Russia; he has arrived,” he continued.

Rosan went on to say that in attracting foreign investment, his office is holding meetings and communications with overseas investors to convince them of Indonesia’s investment potential amid the still-heating Middle East tensions.

“We see that with the tensions, especially in the Middle East countries, investors passing through those countries are also speaking intensively with us, and we are actively meeting with potential investors. They see Indonesia as becoming more attractive,” he stated.

Rosan conveyed that investors who share the same goals with Indonesia, namely desiring peace and stability, become an appealing bargaining point.

“They convey that peace and stability—whether political stability, security stability, and a well-maintained and continuously improving investment climate—are key,” he said.

According to him, the goal of global investors is long-term commitment. “So, the interest in stability becomes very important, and Indonesia has proven that we can maintain that stability as a priority,” he concluded.
