The Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in Riyadh has issued a fresh announcement following escalating tensions in the Middle East after Iran was attacked by the United States and Israel. Indonesian nationals (WNI) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, have been asked to increase their vigilance.

“Remain calm and do not panic, but continually increase vigilance regarding developments in the vicinity of your respective residences,” stated the KBRI Riyadh Instagram account on Saturday, 28 February 2026.

KBRI Riyadh has also requested that Indonesian nationals register with the embassy. All Indonesians have been urged to join the official WhatsApp group of the Indonesian community association in their respective areas to facilitate coordination and the dissemination of important information from KBRI Riyadh.

“Prepare and keep important documents such as passports, iqama, and other identity documents in both physical and digital forms that are easily accessible if needed at any time,” stated KBRI Riyadh.

KBRI Riyadh has also advised Indonesians to postpone travel to countries that could potentially be affected by the Iran and US-Israeli conflict.

“Postpone non-urgent travel to countries or regions that could potentially be affected by the escalation of the security situation. For Indonesians with planned flights, contact your airline immediately to obtain current information regarding flight schedules and status,” KBRI Riyadh stated.

“In emergency situations, Indonesians can contact KBRI Riyadh’s hotline at WhatsApp number +966 569173990,” it added.

The US and Israel launched a joint attack on Iranian territory on Saturday morning Iran time. The attack was claimed to eliminate threats posed by the Iranian regime.

Separate video statements were released by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump, which also suggested support for efforts to change the government in Tehran.

Iran described the attack as a violation of sovereignty. The military promised to retaliate and launch counter-attacks. Iran subsequently launched retaliatory strikes targeting several US military bases in the Middle East region.

A series of explosions rocked several Arab Gulf nations that host US military bases on Saturday, 28 February local time. From Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, to Kuwait, all reported a series of explosions following the US and Israeli attack on Iran.
