Jakarta — Wakil Menteri Haji dan Umrah (Wamenhaj) Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak has assured that preparations for this year’s hajj pilgrimage are proceeding as planned, despite escalating tensions in the Middle East region.

“There are no obstacles. As of today, preparations for the hajj pilgrimage are proceeding smoothly. We have yet to experience any impacts on hajj preparations,” said Wamenhaj Dahnil during a Hajj and Umrah Consolidation meeting at the Banten Hajj Dormitory on Tuesday.

The Deputy Minister reported that preparations for the hajj pilgrimage have already reached approximately 95 percent completion. This figure encompasses accommodation, transportation, and provisions. Other payments, such as Armuzna (surety fees), have also been settled.

“This year’s organisation is progressing faster. Around 95 percent of preparations are complete, with only the grouping of pilgrims remaining. Grouping means organising pilgrims into contingents,” said Wamenhaj.

He stressed that the government continues to monitor developments in the region and is coordinating with relevant authorities to ensure that the hajj can be carried out safely.

“We are continuously monitoring the situation. However, as of today, Indonesia’s hajj preparations have not encountered any obstacles,” said Wamenhaj Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak.
