JAKARTA — The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah is monitoring Indonesian umrah pilgrims as security escalation in the Middle East disrupts several flights from and to Saudi Arabia.

According to reports through the Computerised System for Managing Umrah and Special Hajj (SISKOPATUH), approximately 58,873 Indonesian umrah pilgrims are currently still in Saudi Arabia.

“We urge all umrah pilgrims not to panic. Remain calm and continue coordinating with their respective Umrah Travel Operators (PPIU) to obtain official and current information,” said Puji Raharjo, as quoted from the official Ministry of Hajj and Umrah website on Sunday (1 March 2026).

He also requested that all PPIUs maintain active communication with the Hajj Affairs Office (KUH), the Indonesian Consulate General in Jeddah, and the Indonesian Embassy in Riyadh to ensure that all developments can be followed up promptly and appropriately.

“The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah continues to coordinate with relevant agencies, both domestically and in Saudi Arabia, to ensure the security and safety of Indonesian umrah pilgrims remains the top priority,” he emphasised.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah also urged the families of pilgrims in Indonesia to remain calm if their relatives are performing umrah in Saudi Arabia.

The security escalation in the Middle East has impacted several flights to and from Saudi Arabia. This situation has also affected the departure and return schedules of Indonesian umrah pilgrims, both those currently in Saudi Arabia and those still in Indonesia awaiting their departure schedules.
