President Prabowo Subianto plans to deliver an address intended for all Indonesians in the near future.

He has not yet detailed the specifics of the address he wishes to convey. However, this plan has emerged amid intensifying Middle East conflict.

“But I must also be honest with all the people, and I will also deliver an address to all Indonesians in the coming weeks,” Prabowo said at the inauguration of 218 bridges on Monday, 9 March.

On that occasion, Prabowo also referenced the situation in the Middle East following collaboration between the United States and Israel in attacking Iran since the beginning of this Ramadan.

He spoke of the possible difficulties resulting from the warfare.

Prabowo stated that the impact of the war is felt not only in Indonesia, but the entire world will also be shaken.

“We will emerge from this crisis in a stronger and more prosperous condition, more productive, more able to stand on our own feet. We are very grateful for the blessings bestowed upon us by the Almighty,” he said.

Prabowo noted that although geographically Indonesia is far from the epicentre of the conflict, he said that what happens in one region could well bring consequences to other areas.

Nevertheless, Prabowo emphasised that Indonesia is a great nation that also possesses corresponding strength.

“But once again, we are grateful that Indonesia actually has strength. We have great strength,” he said.

At the same time, Prabowo claimed Indonesia is on the right path amid the escalating Middle East conflict. He stated that Indonesia continues to uphold the principle of independent and non-aligned foreign policy.

Prabowo said Indonesia respects all powers and all nations in the world.

“Unity in diversity within our nation and also abroad. We respect all peoples, religions, races, and ethnic groups, which is what allows Indonesia to now enjoy peaceful conditions,” he said.
